In the Rio Valley charter school model, the Parent/Guardian is the home educator for the student and receives support from an assigned, qualified teacher. Parent/Guardians are involved with the curriculum choices for the student and makes weekly lesson plans if they have opted for our Home education model, while the parent/guardians of students in our Independent study programs provide support to the student with teacher assigned curriculum and oursework. In both models, the teacher assists with aligning the chosen curriculum to the California Standards and assesses the student to ensure adequate progress is being made.
