Rio Valley Charter School offers a customized high school experience where home educators are supported in developing a flexible, personalized learning plan tailored to each student’s academic needs, career interests, and post-secondary goals.
To ensure students are well-prepared for life beyond high school, Rio Valley provides access to comprehensive College and Career Readiness opportunities, including:
- Career Technical Education (CTE) courses such as Medical Terminology, Medical Assistant, and EKG Technician. These classes are taught by a credentialed CTE teacher, and students who complete the coursework are eligible to take state certification exams, gaining valuable, real-world credentials in the healthcare field.
- Dual Enrollment partnerships with San Joaquin Delta College and Sacramento City College, allowing students to earn college credit while completing high school graduation requirements. These opportunities give students early exposure to college-level coursework and help them build confidence for future academic success.
All high school students are supported by a team that includes credentialed teachers, content specialists, and school counselors, ensuring that each student’s academic plan is aligned with California State Standards and designed to support both academic achievement and long-term success.
Counselors are available to provide additional information and guidance on high school planning, CTE certifications, and dual enrollment options.
